Propel eBook, Audio Bundle and Workbook - Harnessing and sustaining the power of momentum

One of the big problems with being stuck in a rut is the feeling that you can’t change anything. Life looks gloomy and change seems impossible. But you don’t have to build Rome in a day. Getting yourself out of that rut can start right now. All you have to do is decide you’ve had enough. And to keep building momentum, the best thing to do is to make momentum a daily habit. The best way to change your life is to do it bit by bit. Change the little things and the big things won’t seem so hard.

Here are five little but significant things you can do to make building momentum a daily habit. They really do make a difference!

1. Make Time for A Good Breakfast

If you’re the type of person who doesn’t have time to eat breakfast, you need to slow right down. Your Mom was right. You do need to start the day with a proper breakfast, not just a quick cup of coffee before you whisk out the door.

Make the time to cook an omelet or scrambled eggs. Make yourself some good coffee. Squeeze some juice. Slow down and savor a good tasty breakfast and you’ll be in much better shape for the day.

2. Make Your Bed

You’ll be surprised how much of a difference making your bed makes to how you start your day. Think of everything you do before you leave the house as setting you up for a good or a bad day. If you leave your bed with the pillow plumped and the covers smoothed you’ve already accomplished something good and tangible. And your Mom would be proud of you.

3. Take A Lunch Break

Taking a break is good self-care. A quick sandwich bolted at your desk is not good for your digestion or your productivity.

Be intentional about taking regular breaks throughout the day and going out for some fresh air at lunchtime. Make sure your lunch is full of fresh, healthy foods that will set you up for the afternoon. Try to stay away from sugar, caffeine, and snacks, as they will lead to mid-afternoon energy drops.

4. Schedule Your Exercise

Set aside some regular time to go for a run or hit the gym. Build it into your schedule so you’re not squeezing it into an already packed day. Commitment to exercising daily will make you feel great, and you’ll find you have a lot more energy.

5. Have A Daily To-do List

Get into the habit of having a list of tasks you need to accomplish each day. There is satisfaction in checking off the ‘done’ tasks, and you’ll be able to see the progress you’re making.
